Yet in this generation of parent-shaming, baby training, and information-overload, there seems to be no general consensus on what it takes to be good enough. Here I discuss the early use of the term attachment, and how it has been misconstrued to set an unattainable bar for what it means to be what our babies need.
The sleep sphere, while one of the most popular conversations amongst new parents, is also one of the most contested. The topic is polarizing and rife with guilt. If you co-sleep and baby-wear, you are spoiling your baby. If you crib sleep and sleep train, your little one is doomed to a life of chronic stress and detachment. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could trade notes without judgment?
